In this poppy field landscape I was varying my usual red colour scheme in order to give the idea of back lighting from a low summer sun. The cottage and hills look like Scotland but it's an imagined landscape, as are all of these, rather than a particular place.

I used rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then made marks with a cloth and other tools. I built up layers of over-lapping colous by printing serveral times. I incorporated textures by impressing inked up wallpaper and fabric. I also used paper stencils to make the crisp edges. The poppies were printed using a viscosity method which rolling a stiffer ink over an oily ink.
