Introduction

This Privacy Notice explains in detail the types of personal data I may collect about you when you interact with my website or visit my studio. It also explains how I’ll store and handle that data, and keep it safe.

We hope the following sections will answer any questions you have but if not, please do get in touch with me.

It’s likely that I’ll need to update this Privacy Notice from time to time. I’ll notify you of any significant changes, but you’re welcome to come back and check it whenever you wish.

Explaining the legal bases I rely on

The law on data protection sets out a number of different reasons for which a business may collect and process your personal data, including:

Consent

I collect and process your data with your consent when you sign up to my emails. This happens when you subscribe to my email newsletters using either the online forms or a paper form off-line or verbally when you are are a customer in my studio. I only need your name and email address in order to send you news by email. This is processed by Constant Contact email service provider and also by Wix who host my website. I don’t pass your details to any other business or organisation.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email I send you.

Contractual obligations
I need your personal data to comply with my contractual obligations.

For example, if you order an item from me for home delivery, I’ll collect your address details to deliver your purchase, and pass them to our courier. I work with Paypal and Stripe to process your payment card details. These are stored securely by them. If you pay over the phone, I will destroy your card details when payment has cleared.

Legal compliance
If the law requires me to, I may need to collect and process your data.

For example, I can pass on details of people involved in fraud or other criminal activity affecting my business to law enforcement .

Legitimate interest
In specific situations, I may require your data to pursue my legitimate interests in a way which might reasonably be expected as part of running my business and which does not materially impact your rights, freedom or interests.

If you have purchased a product from me in the past, I will contact you to check you are happy with the item(s) and to ask permission to add your name and email address to my list for the purpose of sending marketing messages in the future. You will always have the option to unsubscribe (as above)

I will use your name and contact details to answer your queries and ensure that the product(s) I supplied met your expectations. I may ask you for written feedback and pictures to use on my website, social media and email marketing. This will always be with your permission.

How I use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me to analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website.  I use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help me provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.

The cookies I’m using at present are Google Analytics and Facebook Ads re-marketing pixel
