Dunstanburgh Castle is an iconic landmark in Northumberland. Most of my seascapes are imagined places but for this new one I wanted the strong focus of the silhouette of the castle againist a powerful sunrise sky. You can see how the original was made here.
The original for this is a monotype, a unique printed painting. I use rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then make marks with a cloth and other tools. The four headlands were created using torn paper stencils.
This giclee reproduction print is made to the highest standards on high quality paper with achival grade inks. The accuracy of colour to the original is first rate.
