This night sky picture was a new venture for me but I'm pleased with their crisp simplicity and random star effect. I'd been looking at photos of night skies then had a moment of inspiration when I saw that I could use a chalk dust technique to create a starry night with the Milky Way.

The original for this is a monotype, a unique printed painting. I use rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then make marks with a cloth and other tools. I print layers of colour using paper stencils and draw the trees with a trace monotype method.

This giclee reproduction is made to the highest standards on high quality paper. The accuracy of colour to the original is first rate.
