I gave this tiger more detail and realism than some of my more simple animal shapes. The tree gives a suggestion of a leafy habitat. This piece references some of the wonderful children's book illustration I enjoyed whilst reading to my young children.

I used acrylic paints, inks and collage. I make my own collage papers by painting on lightweight sheets with layers of professional grade colour. After cutting out shapes with a knife, I glue the pieces onto good-quality paper using archival glue.
