Influenced by Japanese woodcuts, this new original monotype is printed in layers of translucent ink to make the colours softly glow. Imagine the reeds moving gently in a light breeze, touched by the light as the sun goes down.
I used rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then made marks with a cloth and other tools. I built up layers of over-lapping colous by printing several times. I also used paper stencils to make the crisp edges.
