This lone tree, surrounded by a carpet of heather is a well known icon on Egton High Moor in North Yorkshire. I gave the view a glowing sunset light and used a variety of textures and colours to depict the heather.
The original for this is a monotype, a unique printed painting. I use rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then make marks with a cloth and other tools. I print layers of colour using paper stencils and draw the trees with a trace monotype method.
This giclee reproduction is made to the highest standards on high quality paper. The accuracy of colour to the original is first rate.
