I actually began Beside Still Waters with the sea in mind, but as it developed it felt much more like a lake or pond, so I decided to follow where the painting was taking me. The still water and flowers create a quiet, peaceful atmosphere that I hope draws the viewer in and encourages you to pause for a while and find a moment of peace.
I used acrylic paints, inks and crayons , building up layers that retain a sense of light. Fot the leaves and flowers, I developed a callingraphic technique influenced by Chinese brush painting. This floral lake artis sealed with four layers of varnish with a satin finish.
Available framed or unframed
Framed option: A bespoke dove grey or balck floating frame adds style and emphasis. Other colours available - please enquire. 5mm gap between artwork and frame.
Unframed option: This painting can be hung directly on your wall. The edges of the panel are carefully painted to give a good finish from all angles. Supplied ready to hang with D-rings and picture cord.
